We were called out by a landlord, to a tenement building which he owned it had started to become a local hang out for alcoholics and drug users. The security entry at street level and basement level were both broke (now in working order). There had been needles and syringes as well as drug parapnila found in the building.
The landlord decided that he was going to renovate the close but before the works start he was looking to have the close sanitised . We sanitised from head height to floor, from the top floor to the bottom floor.
Why Sanitise ?
When there as been any case of drug use or body fluids there is a possibility of cross contamination and the possibility of spreading the diseases, this can be from touch or even your shoes in some cases Hep B can live outside the body for up to eight weeks. Its not always what you see that can cause you harm .
Blood Bourne Pathogens
Blood borne pathogens are infectious microorganisms in human blood that can cause disease in humans. These pathogens include, but are not limited to, hepatitis B (HBV), hepatitis C (HCV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
